The month of February sees us have three away games before concluding the month at home to high flying Lowestoft Town, with the upcoming games offering us (on paper) the chance for three league doubles but more importantly we search for league points to ease any relegation threats on field.

After the blank opening Saturday after East Thurrock’s withdrawal from the league, we return to action on the 10th when we travel to mid-table Witham Town who we have defeated at home twice this season in the Velocity Cup and then the League. We were perhaps fortunate to be level in the cup match before Matt Paine, Josh Folkes and Kai Fletcher goals saw us get through. The league game was our first home league win and early goals from Charley Barker and Tom Maycock saw us win reasonably comfortably. Since then Witham have showed improved form and on their Spa Road ground they have picked up some good points.

On the 17th we travel to Stowmarket Town in a game that the home side really need to win and Wanderers probably need to avoid defeat in. The home game was a disappointing game for us as Stow battled better than we did and after Charley Barker had put us in front we found ourselves behind and only a wonderful strike from Tyler Corbett rescued a point. I am sure it will be a cracking atmosphere and hopefully many of our fans will be at the game including the intrepid sponsored walkers who will be raising money for ground improvements by walking from The Doucy to Greens Meadow – please sponsor at the following link https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/walk4wanderers?utm_id=60&utm_term=3MJD3xMD5

We then travel to New Salamis on Friday 23rd (kick off 7.45pm), we lost in the FA Vase on our last trip there but we won the home encounter thanks to a quick fire Jamie Eaton-Collins double.

The month ends with our first home game for some time on Tuesday 27th (kick off 7.45pm) against Lowestoft Town, we have had many classic games with them and we will have to be at our best to match our early season 2-1 win against them when Paolo Coelho and Andy Fennell got our goals.
