We unfortunately received news this week of the departure of Michael Brothers (Bruvs) as 1st Team Manager. Bruvs joined us mid-way through last season and steered the club to a number of late season victories which, although not enough to avoid relegation, steadied the club on the pitch and gave us a good platform to build on for this season. However, Bruvs has been offered the opportunity to return to that step of football with Brantham Athletic and after some consideration has chosen to make that move. We all wish Bruvs the very best with his new role and thank him for the efforts on and off the pitch to bring the club back together in recent months.
Our Co-Chairmen, Andy Skinner and Rick Kerry had the following statement late last week:
We today received the resignation from the first team manager, Michael Brothers, as he has been offered an opportunity at a step 4 club.
Reluctantly we have accepted Bruvs resignation with immediate effect.
He has been a breath of fresh air for the club and brought a real togetherness when it was needed most.
Over the past few weeks he has worked closely with the new leadership team at the club and we thank him for that as we went through some transition off the pitch.
Thank you Bruvs for everything you have done. You will be missed and we wish you all the best in your new opportunity.
We will let our amazing supporters and wider club community know more about a successor when we have further news.
